On May 19, 2025 , the Runway and Road Upgrade & Rehabilitation Project Completion and Handover Ceremony marked the successful conclusion of the Maurice Bishop International Airport (MBIA) upgrade project—an initiative launched in February 2021.

Executed by China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) , this milestone represents a major advancement in Grenada’s aviation infrastructure, positioning MBIA as a modern, future-ready gateway to the world.
